Fecha 10, the rest…

After a cracking day yesterday, we saw Quilmes pick up their first win of the season, a draw that won’t particularly help San Lorenzo or Lanus, a clasico win for Racing, an important triumph for All Boys, and finally Godoy Cruz, showing that they could have enough for a tilt at the championship this year. Argentinos surrendered their title as the only unbeaten team remaining but proved that when they’re involved, the unders are a banker.

On to today, and Estudiantes are winless in 4 (in all competitions) and are therefore in a surprising predicament for such a strong side. They travel south to Bahia Blanca to play overachieving Olimpo, who have a dangerman in Maggiolo. Estudiantes will go for this, with Gaston Fernandez back they’ll have extra firepower. Braña is missing which is a blow, but Olimpo have come unstuck against top opposition recently and I see them more as a side having an exceptional start than a genuine title contender. 2.1 for Estudiantes is my bet.

The next game from a betting point of view is a no-go I’m afraid. Whilst I expect the improving Boca to win against Tigre, the price is nowhere near good enough and Tigre have a dangerman in Stracqularsi.Nothing here.

In the next fixture, you have to fancy Velez. An excellent outfit who have all the firepower and class to win this game. The mark against their name is that they’ve had a long trip to Venezuela this week to play Caracas but they triumphed comfortably and given Colon have lost their last 4 at home, unless Esteban Fuertes puts on a show, you can expect Velez to come out on top, I fancy them to win by 2 but we’ll keep it simple with Velez 2.25.

Next I’m going to tip up a 3rd away win of the day. I know this seems unlikely but you’re looking at the three best sides in the league arguably and River are my NAP of the day to win at Gimnasia. El Lobo are down in the relegation picture and looking in trouble. Their home record is far from spectacular in honesty, with just 3 points from 4 games at their recently refurbished home. There seems little chance of them prevailing against this River side whose attacking football and resolute defence has seen them battling it out at the top for honours. I really can’t see anything but a River win and at 2.3, it’s a delectable price.

Monday night’s fixture sees no bet from me, two unpredictable sides where I’d favour Banfield but it’s far from a certainty against an Arsenal side who whilst they have nothing spectacular they have enough to take points from this short trip.

Let’s see then, good luck….
